RICE PUDDING RECIPE


Rice pudding: Ingredients and preparation

Ingredients… (serving 4)

  • 6 cups of whole milk « Lait de nos campagnes »
  • 1 cup of short-grain white rice
  • Butter
  • Pinch salt
  • Granulated sugar (around 4 tablespoons, more if needed)
  • 1 vanilla pod, split lengthways, (could be replaced by 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract or vanilla sugar*)

*We recommend to take off 1 sugar tablespoon if you use vanilla sugar!

Instructions (take only 5 min :

  • First, Melt some butter in a saucepan […]
  • Add the rice and stir over medium heat for about 3-4 minutes […]
  • Pour in the milk « Lait de nos campagnes »
  • Then, pour the powdered sugar, the salt, and the vanilla pod.
  • Reduce the heat and stir (The milk should slowly heat)
  • Let it cook, stirring occasionally (to avoid the rice sticking to the saucepan)

Within 35min, check if it’s done, and check the rice consistency. Make sure both rice and milk are cooked enough.

Pour the mixture in ramekins and let it cool

* Do not forget to take the vanilla pad off.

Dessert is ready !
